Funding institution: European Commission (Erasmus+)

Program: Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships (Action KA220)

Agreement number: TODO — to be filled in from FRSE contract

Project period: TODO — to be filled in from contract

Partners: Inventivio (DE), Schulverbund Frei Heitor Pinto (PT), ProBlind (DE), ONCE (ES)

ANV role: 3D modeling and printing of biological structures — tactile models for biology education

Project description

Tactile and Interactive Learning Materials for Inclusive Biology Education — a project creating biology teaching materials accessible to blind and visually impaired students. The materials are designed as interactive, tactile models of biological structures.

Educational materials produced in the project are made freely available online under an open license in line with Erasmus+ principles. Project progress is published on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.

Project description

The goal of the project is to develop a best-practice methodology for adapting national heritage sites to the needs of blind and visually impaired people. The project’s outcome will be a detailed report with guidelines on how to best prepare and adapt such sites to meet the needs of blind and visually impaired visitors in the following areas:

  • design and production of functional building and site models,
  • recreating and adapting three-dimensional museum objects such as sculptures, bas-reliefs, and reliefs to the needs of blind and visually impaired people,
  • digitization, processing, and production of tactile equivalents of two-dimensional works (e.g. paintings, photographs, engravings) so they deliver maximum value for people with visual impairments,
  • scanning, adapting, and producing scale models of architectural heritage.

NCBR

Project title: Strengthening the independence of people with motor disabilities through the development of parameterized, easy-to-manufacture adapters for furniture from popular producers

Funding institution: National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR)

Program: Rzeczy są dla ludzi — competition within the governmental Accessibility Plus Program

Project number: Rzeczy są dla ludzi/0092/2020

Project period: TODO — to be filled in from contract

Project description

The goal of the project is to design, create, test, and produce prototypes of innovative, personalized furniture adapters for people with motor disabilities. The main outcome will be the study and certification of approximately 20 highly personalized furniture adapters for people with disabilities, which will then be introduced into the company’s operations.
